Uninstall Zelos¶
Before you uninstall, save your work, stop any recordings or hardware operations, and quit Zelos. Back up any traces, notebooks, and layouts you want to keep.
We recommend logging out first. In Zelos settings, open the menu under your name and select Log out. This removes your stored sign-in token from your computer.
Uninstalling the app does not cancel a cloud subscription or delete your cloud data. An organization owner can cancel in the console's billing portal. To delete your account or cloud data, email [email protected].
macOS¶
- Quit Zelos.
- In Finder, open Applications.
- Drag Zelos to the Trash, then empty the Trash.
Windows¶
- Quit Zelos.
- Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (Windows 11) or Settings → Apps → Apps & features (Windows 10).
- Find Zelos, select Uninstall, and confirm.
You can also use Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features. Zelos is installed in %LOCALAPPDATA%\zelos_app. Use the uninstaller rather than deleting that folder.
Ubuntu¶
-
Quit Zelos and remove the package:
-
If you added the Zelos apt repository, remove it and refresh your package list:
If you added the Zelos line to a different file, remove only the line that contains
https://release.zeloscloud.io/app/ubuntufrom that file.
Remove your local data (optional)¶
Uninstalling leaves your data on your computer. To remove it, quit Zelos and delete the folders below. This deletes your local recordings, settings, logs, installed extensions, and notebook environments. Back up anything you want to keep first.

Also check these:
- Custom locations. If you moved trace storage in Zelos settings, delete that folder too. If you set
ZELOS_DATA_DIRorZELOS_NOTEBOOKS_DIR, your data is in those folders instead. - Separately installed Zelos agent. An agent you installed separately can use the same data folder. Remove the data folder only if you no longer need the agent.
- Stored sign-in. Logging out removes the locally stored credentials. If you did not log out, remove the
io.zeloscloud.zelos-appentry (accountoauth_tokens) from your operating system's credential store: Keychain Access (macOS), Credential Manager (Windows), or your keyring (Linux). If credentials were stored in a file instead, removelogin-token.jsonfrom the Zelos data folder listed above or yourZELOS_DATA_DIR. Removing that whole folder also removes this file. - Extension Python versions. Extensions can download Python versions through uv into uv's own data folder. Other tools on your computer may use them, so remove them only if you know they are not needed.
Deleting local files does not delete copies you uploaded to the cloud, sent with feedback, or shared with others.
