Console¶
The console manages your organization and its cloud resources. Use the desktop app to connect hardware, stream live data, inspect local traces, and build workspace views. Use the web console to manage people, cloud traces, published notebooks, shared layouts, tags, billing, and AI usage.
Open the console at console2.zeloscloud.io and sign in. Every page is scoped to the organization selected at the top of the sidebar.
Switch or create an organization¶
Select the organization name at the top of the sidebar to:
- see your role in the current organization;
- switch to another organization you belong to; or
- select Create organization.
The console remembers the most recently active organization. If you have a pending invitation or are eligible for automatic joining, the Overview shows a Join your team card with Accept or Join. The desktop app offers the same choices when you sign in; see Organizations.

Use the Overview page¶
The Overview is the landing page for the selected organization. Its Get the Zelos desktop app card chooses a macOS or Windows download when it can detect your platform and links to all platforms otherwise. The card can be dismissed.
The console is not a browser replacement for the desktop analysis workspace. Select Get the desktop app in the sidebar whenever you need to connect a device, stream signals, or analyze a trace interactively.
Manage layouts¶
Open Layouts to search by name, filter by one or more tags, and load more results.
Create a layout in the console¶
Select New Layout, enter a name, choose Shared with team or Personal (only you can see), optionally choose tags, and provide the layout data as a JSON object. The form validates the JSON before saving.
Creating raw layout JSON is mainly useful for automation or recovery. For normal work, build a layout visually in the desktop app and save it to the cloud.
Inspect and change a layout¶
Select a layout to:
- rename it;
- switch between shared and personal visibility;
- add or remove tags;
- edit its JSON, with each content save creating a version;
- inspect, label, compare, download, or restore versions in version history;
- transfer ownership to another organization member; or
- delete the layout.
Shared layouts are visible and editable by organization members. Personal layouts are visible and editable only by their owner. Deleting or transferring a shared layout is limited to its owner or an organization owner/admin; a personal layout remains owner-only.
Use the Projects page¶
The current Projects page is an empty-state placeholder. It does not yet offer project creation or management. Use layouts, tags, traces, and notebooks to organize current cloud work.
Manage cloud traces¶
Open Traces to search by trace name, filter by tags, and load more results. The page shows how much of the organization's cloud storage is in use and warns when it is close to the limit.
Each trace row provides:
- its detail page;
- Copy share link, which copies the trace's HTTPS console URL;
- Open in app, which hands the trace to the Zelos desktop app;
- Edit tags…; and
- Delete, when you are authorized.
The trace detail page's primary action is Open in Zelos. If the operating system does not hand the link to the app, the page reveals Download the Zelos app. The page also lets you copy the same organization-scoped HTTPS link.
Only members of the trace's organization can open its normal console link. A trace may be deleted by its uploader or by an organization owner/admin.

Manage published notebooks¶
Open Notebooks to search published notebooks, filter them by tags, and open a
notebook's latest publish. Notebooks are published from the desktop app with
Share → Publish or with zelos notebook publish. Like the Traces page, this
page shows the organization's cloud storage usage
and warns when it is close to the limit.
On a notebook page you can:
- inspect rendered prose, code, outputs, parameters, authors, tags, and run outcome;
- switch among recent publishes or open the full history;
- download the source for the selected publish;
- copy a link or manage sharing when you have permission;
- open the notebook in the Zelos desktop app;
- edit tags; or
- delete it from the cloud.
An older publish is selected with the version controls and remains pinned while you inspect or download it. A notebook owner can manage a personal notebook. An organization notebook can be changed by its owner or a current organization owner/admin. Other members can open organization notebooks but get no editing actions.
Manage tags¶
Tags are one organization-wide vocabulary shared by traces, layouts, and notebooks. Open Tags to create a tag with a name, color, and optional description.
Every organization member can create tags and apply existing tags to resources they may change. A tag's creator may rename or recolor it. Organization owners and admins may edit any tag. Deletion also depends on where the tag is in use; the confirmation states how many visible traces and shared layouts will lose the tag. The console hides an action when the server says you do not have permission.
Use tags for stable concepts shared by the team, such as nightly, vehicle-a,
or release-blocker, rather than one-off notes.
Manage organization members and roles¶
Open Organization to view the organization name, slug, plan, automatic join rules, pending invitations, and members.
Roles have these practical differences:

Resource ownership adds another layer to these organization roles. For example, a trace uploader may delete that trace, a personal layout belongs to its owner, and an organization notebook may be changed by its owner or an owner/admin.
Invite a teammate¶
Owners and admins can enter an email, choose Member or Admin, and select Invite. Zelos emails the invitation, and the invitee also sees Accept in the console and the desktop app after signing in. An invitation expires after seven days. Pending invitations show their role and expiration date and can be canceled.
Configure automatic joining¶
When your sign-in identity provides a Google Workspace or Microsoft tenant anchor, an owner/admin can enable automatic joining for it. Eligible teammates then see a one-click Join option without an invitation. Review the displayed tenant value before enabling it, and revoke a rule that should no longer admit new members.
Manage billing and AI credits¶
Billing appears only for the organization owner. It contains the current plan and seat count, plan choices, payment and invoice management, AI credit balance and credit purchases, organization AI controls, the Cloud uploads card, and cloud storage usage.
The storage card shows storage used against the plan's included allowance, a breakdown by product, current overage, and the accrued and projected overage cost. Allowances, overage pricing, and what happens when storage is full are in Storage and Billing.
Some organizations are billed outside Stripe. In that case the console reports that billing is managed externally instead of offering self-service payment changes.
Disable uploads on the Cloud uploads card stops everyone in the organization saving to cloud storage; existing data stays readable. Re-enable uploads turns it back on. Changing an AI or upload control affects the whole organization. Read the status shown on the card after saving; a Zelos-wide or Zelos-admin block cannot be overridden by an organization owner.
Review AI usage¶
AI usage appears for owners and admins. It is read-only and shows:
- available organization AI balance;
- recent organization usage;
- the number of teammates with usage; and
- recent spend by teammate.
Owners can follow Manage in Billing to purchase credits or change AI controls. Admins are directed to ask an owner.
Manage account settings¶
Open Settings to view the signed-in email and whether it is verified. If it is not verified, use the verification action on that page. These are web-console account settings; desktop appearance, panel defaults, storage, diagnostics, and performance settings remain in desktop app Settings.
Use Sign out at the bottom of the sidebar to end the console session.
Move between the console and desktop app¶
The two surfaces hand work to each other:
- Get the desktop app opens the download page.
- Open in app or Open in Zelos on a cloud trace launches that trace in the installed desktop app.
- Open in Zelos App on a published notebook opens it as a read-only tab in the desktop app, where Save to library makes an editable copy.
- Manage team in desktop Settings opens the organization's console Overview; Billing opens its Billing page.
- A copied trace or notebook HTTPS link opens the console first, where membership is checked before the desktop handoff.
If a launch link does nothing, confirm the desktop app is installed, return to the trace or notebook detail page, and try the launch action again. For traces, the page offers an app download after the handoff times out.
Troubleshoot the console¶
A page or resource is missing¶
Confirm the organization selected at the top of the sidebar. Personal layouts and personal notebooks are visible only to their owner. Billing is owner-only, and AI usage is owner/admin-only, so those links are intentionally absent for a member.
A create or edit is refused¶
Check your resource ownership, organization role, and plan limits. A downgraded organization can have layouts locked until it deletes layouts or upgrades. A trace upload or notebook publish is refused when the organization's cloud storage is full. Cloud uploads and AI can also be disabled at the organization or Zelos level.
A new resource does not appear in a filtered list¶
Clear the search text and tag filters. Lists reload from the first page after a create, but a successful resource that does not match the active filter remains hidden.
Opening a trace or notebook does not launch the app¶
Install or update the desktop app, then retry from the resource detail page.

AI reports insufficient credit or disabled access¶
An owner should open Billing to inspect the credit balance and organization AI switch. Owners and admins can use AI usage to inspect recent consumption. If the console reports a Zelos-wide or Zelos-admin block, wait for Zelos to clear it.
